Earlier this week the UCs sent out an application verification request to a random sample (approximately 1% of all UC applicants) via email, post mail, and text message. The verification request varies in nature but often looks for an official/original document or testimony from an independent source that those parts of your application are accurate. Sometimes that means they want an official transcript or a letter from your job/volunteering supervisor. Instructions to submit those documents are included in the notification. The verification process is completely independent of the application review, so do not worry about a delayed decision if you are one of the lucky few selected. The deadline to respond is January 31, 2025, and failure to respond will mean that your application to all UC campuses will be automatically denied.
Please check your spam/promotions folders, pay close attention to any mail, and take an extra glance at any automated text messages to ensure that you don’t miss a verification request. And if you’d like, feel free to forward this email to any of your peers to help them out!
